Hi Peter,

Do you mean a complete build, start to finish, in one weekend?

aLAN.

That's right Alan, I was mainly thinking small scale armour or aircraft. I think a curb side 1/24 scale kit or a 1/43 scale auto may also be possible. My main point was really about whether or not there is interest in it. We could work on the fineprint and extend the builds to a week or something like that. We may even be able to do a 1 month competition. :-k

What are your thoughts on that? I would like to see how creative we can get in a short time frame, if we can get some WIP's going, we may even be able to learn some neat little tricks on the way.

Peter,

The time frame for me would be too short I'm afraid, even at a week, I just don'y like to be held to that short a timescale.(even 1 month).

I think the idea is great though for anyone with the time needed to complete a project in a week or a month.

Also I don't personaly like the idea of a competition.

Sorry I can't be more positive.

Cheers,

Alan.

Thanks Alan, that was the whole point of the Poll, I wanted to gauge the response from you guys. Ultimately, I want this place to be a a community, every major change will go through a poll.

Cheers for the comments
Peter

I might. I think it is a good idea. Way too many people think the only good model is one you slaved over for hundreds of hours adding all kinds of photo etch and 20 layer paint jobs. That's why a lot of models get started and never finished. A two day finish is reasonable time to complete a nice build up straight from the box for many models.

You got it nobucks, probably safe to say we have all been guilty of that from time to time. I will be really pressed for time over the next few years, so I wanted to see what i could accomplish with a decent kit over a weekend. Maybe the competition thing is not the right idea for this forum, but I could create a new gallery called 'The Weekender' where members are free to add all the models that fall within that category. What are your thoughts on that?

Cheers

I'm in! It should be possible to build an armor or plane over a weekend.

I would be up for a one month build contest, I would most likely stick to my 1/24 scale autos, but most likely a static display.

Yeah, I had a busy weekend with other commitments too :) Wine tasting yesterday and cigar and Scotch tasting today... I know, it's tough, but somebody's gotta do it :)

The crappy avatar was fun, but I didn't want to upset the weak stomachs! :armata_PDT_12:

LOL... That's right, Ben, you remind us of our friend 'Sam I am' he was the first person I know to have hit a threshold I didn't even know existed... i.e. the most allowed emoticons in a thread LOL

It's all very good, it's great to see you enjoying the website and pulling out some of these great old threads. As it's written, 'Nothing is new under the sun', so maybe we ought to try a bring this weekend competition back onto the starting blocks.

Thanks again for the participation.

I think its IMPORTANT that we NOT spread the "WORD" that i respond to 5 year old posts ! lol .. its between us .. :icon_biggrin: ok ??
