We are always looking at ways to make escale exciting and encourage everyone to participate. Taking on board all the feedback last year on the format of the Group Builds, the moderating team have agreed on a new approach for 2010.
We've decided to re-instate the exercises but with a twist. You will now be able to vote for a subject and participate as you wish. The twist is that the forum exercises will no longer be site wide but forum wide. That is to say, we will have official eXercises across Genres. For example, we may have a Motor Bike forum group build kick off in February that runs for three months, and perhaps, we'll kick off voting for a Sci-Fi exercise in March. So there will be overlap at times and allow people to hop in and hopefully build something outside their comfort zone from time to time.
A poll vote will be opened by the forum moderators and they will have select a shortlist of subjects to pick from. These will go up to be voted on by all members wishing to participate. If you have no intention of participating in a forum build, please restrain from voting.
Once the Forum Group Build (FGB) has been selected and starting date settled simply start a thread in that forum with the prefix FGB. The moderator will pin all the current eXercises so everyone can keep track of group builds. We will go back to individual threads for each member's build. An example thread for a Super Bike Group build may look like the following and be created in the Factory WIP forum.
FGB:- Yamaha YZR -M1
Super Bike Group Build
If you wish to spark interest in a group build or wish to discuss a subject or future project, use the Group Build Discussion forum. This is also the place where all FGB will be announced.
I hope you enjoy the changes. The builds that are currently in the GB calendar will still be available but not officially endorsed.
